Dental pain can be troublesome and sometimes unbearable. The following protocol is the best at managing dental pain. It combines ibuprofen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication with acetaminophen, a pain reliever with a completely different mechanism of action. Assuming you can take both medications, this combination works better than prescription narcotics.

Use the below protocol whenever you have dental pain AND/OR immediately after dental extraction or root canal procedure while you are still numb.

Protocol:

-Take 400mg Ibuprofen

3 hours later

-Take 325mg Acetaminophen

3 hours later

-Take 400mg Ibuprofen

3 hours later

-Take 325mg Acetaminophen

3 hours later

Keep repeating this pattern. Every 3 hours you will be introducing a new dose of a different medication. The key to pain management is to not let the effect of the medication wear off.
